Disposal information

Information on returning batteries

In connection with the sale of batteries and of devices containing batteries, we are obliged to inform you of the following:

Used batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. As an end user you are legally obliged to return used batteries. You can hand in used batteries free of charge at public collection points.

Before handing in lithium batteries, please tape over the contacts to prevent short circuits. Please take damaged or swollen batteries directly to a collection point.

Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out waste bin. The name of a contained pollutant may also appear below the symbol: “Cd” stands for cadmium, “Pb” for lead and “Hg” for mercury.

Information on the disposal of electrical and electronic equipment

Electrical and electronic equipment (e.g. chargers, controllers or gas discharge lamps) marked with the symbol of a crossed-out waste bin must not be disposed of with household waste. As the owner of waste equipment, you are obliged to dispose of it separately from unsorted municipal waste.

Used batteries that are not enclosed by the waste equipment, as well as lamps that can be removed from the waste equipment without being destroyed, must be separated from the waste equipment before it is handed in.

You can hand in waste equipment free of charge at the collection points of the public waste management authorities (e.g. municipal recycling centres). Your town or municipal administration can give you information on collection points.

Please note that you are responsible for deleting personal data on waste equipment to be disposed of.
